Vivek Agnihotri has been given ‘Y’ category security with CRPF commando cover. The decision to provide him with the fourth-highest category security in the country was taken by the ministry of home affairs in view of his film, The Kashmir Files, kicking up a political storm as it is based on the mass exodus of Kashmiri Pandits from Kashmir in 1990 due to terrorism. Vivek had claimed that there was a threat to his life following the release of his film on 11th March.
While the film has got the support of the BJP and the BJP-ruled states, the opposition has termed it one-sided and an untrue portrayal of history.
