YESTERYEAR ACTRESS SMRITI BISWAS DIES AT 100 | 5 July, 2024

Yesteryear actress Smriti Biswas passed away at her Nasik residence on 3rd July at the age of 100. Among her well-known films were B.R. Chopra’s Chandni Chowk, Navketan’s Humsafar, Dilli Ka Thug, Shaheed Bhagat Singh (1954), Jagte Raho (cameo), Neel Akasher Neechey (Bengali; cameo), Guru Dutt’s Sailab and Aabroo (both 1956) and Baap Re Baap (1958). Her last film was Modern Girl (1960).

Smriti Biswas left acting after marrying producer-director S.D. Narang. She had fallen on bad times years ago. She is survived by two sons, Rajiv and Satyajeet Narang.
