The trailer of Zee5’s new web series, Zidd, is out. The seven-part series of Zee’s digital platform will be streamed from January 22, 2021. The date must’ve been selected to inspire the patriotic fervour among the viewers as the series is the story of the Kargil war hero, Deependra Singh Sengar, a Major in the Indian Special Forces. Amit Sadh plays Sengar in the series.
Sengar’s stories of valour, grit and determination are what legendary army tales are all about. The army officer seemed unstoppable even when he became wheelchair-bound.
The series is directed by Vishal Mangalorkar whose first long-format enterprise this is. He comes from the ad world. If Mangalorkar debuts in the web space with Zidd, so does Boney Kapoor who has produced this with Akash Chawla and Joy Sengupta as his partners.
Amit Sadh, who has been around for a decade now — he debuted with Phoonk 2 and had a starring role in Kai Po Che! with Sushant Singh Rajput and Rajkumar Rao but was the only one from the trio, who never made it to the A-league — must have pinned all his hopes on this one now. Zidd co-stars Aly Goni, Amrita Puri and Sushant Singh.
