Upcoming writer Kamal Chandra has accused Ayushmann Khurrana of having stolen his story idea for Bala. The film, co-starring Bhumi Pednekar, Yami Gautam, Saurabh Shukla, Jaaved Jaaferi and Seema Pahwa, is being directed by Amar Kaushik for producer Dinesh Vijan. It is being produced under the banner of Maddock Films and presented by Jio Studios.
