Producer Boney Kapoor will commence the shooting of his new film, starring Ajay Devgan, on 19th August. It is a biopic of football coach Syed Abdul Rahim and is being directed by Amit Sharma who had made Tevar for Boney and whose second film, Badhaai Ho, just last week won the National Award for the best film providing wholesome entertainment.
Boney Kapoor’s partners in production are Akash Chawla and Arunava Joy Sengupta. South Indian actress Keerthy Suresh, who also won the National Award last week for best actress for her performance in Mahanati (Telugu), plays Ajay Devgan’s wife in the biopic.
The Indian football team won a Gold at the 1962 Asian Games in Jakarta and reached the semi-finals of the 1956 Melbourne Olympics when Syed Abdul Rahim was the coach.
