The 50th edition of the International Film Festival of India will be inaugurated by Amitabh Bachchan in Goa on 20th November. The IFFI will be held from 20th to 28th November. The government of Goa has allotted four additional screens for 100 more films. A total of over 190 films will be screened from 176 countries in the world, Union I & B minster Prakash Javadekar said. Of the foreign films to be screened at IFFI, 24 are in the race for the Oscars. Fifty films of 50 women directors will also be screened. Seven Konkani films will be shown in a new section.
Rajinikanth will be given the Icon of Golden Jubilee Award. French film actress Isabelle Hupert will be given the lifetime achievement award.
