Eyebrows were raised in political circles when actress Anju Ghosh joined the BJP in Calcutta on 5th June as it was felt that she is a Bangladeshi citizen. However, the Bengal BJP set to rest the controversy when it produced Anju’s birth certificate issued by the Calcutta Municipal Corporation to prove that she was an Indian national who had worked in films produced in India as well as Bangladesh.
