A group of over 230 writers, 100 visual artistes and 800 theatre and film personalities have banded together and signed online petitions organised on separate community forums since 8th April, appealing to people to vote out hate politics and choose diversity. The group has asked the people to not vote for the BJP. Among the film people in the anti-BJP group are Girish Karnad, Naseeruddin Shah, Ratna Pathak Shah, Amol Palekar, Vinay Pathak, Anurag Kashyap, Konkona Sen Sharma and Denzil Smith.
