Even as the Producers Guild Of India announced the setting up of a fund for the benefit of the cine workers who are daily wage earners and who’ve been hit by the directive to producers to suspend all shootings to tide over the coronavirus outbreak, producers and filmmakers were also contemplating helping the workers on an individual level. Filmmakers like Nikhil Advani, Hansal Mehta, Rahul Dholakia, Anurag Kashyap, Vikramaditya Motwane, Anubhav Sinha and Sudhir Mishra have voiced their sentiments and are keen that all filmmakers begin by helping the cine workers whom they generally hire for their films.
