GOA TO SCRUTINISE FILM SCRIPTS AFTER WRONG PORTRAYAL IN ‘MALANG’ | 14 February, 2020

The Goa government has decided to henceforth scrutinise film scripts before giving filmmakers permission to shoot in the state, chief minister Pramod Sawant said at Panaji in Goa on 12th February. The move comes after the alleged portrayal of Goa as a drug hub in Malang. Sawant wondered why filmmakers should portray Goa as a drug destination.

He said, the Entertainment Society of Goa (ESG), the nodal agency for granting permissions for film shootings in the state, will assess the scripts. The ESG will ensure that the image of Goa as a state is not maligned.
