Raj Goel, widow of well-known producer-director Devendra Goel, passed away this morning (1st August) at Hinduja Hospital at Khar in Bombay due to age-related illnesses. She was 89 and is survived by three sons — Ajay, Jyotin and Sunil — and a daughter, erstwhile actress Vinita Goel.
The cremation will take place today (1st) at 12.30 p.m. at the Santacruz crematorium. The prayer meeting will be held on 3rd August between 4.45 p.m. and 5.45 p.m. at Arya Samaj Hall, Santacruz.
Raj Goel was an M.A. in Sociology and an IAS officer before marriage. She was actively involved as an associate producer and in the screenplay department of her husband’s films like Chirag Kahan Roshni Kahan, Dus Lakh, Ek Phool Do Mali and Aadmi Sadak Ka, among many others. She was the sister of filmmakers Brij Sadanah, Vijay Sadanah and Chander Sadanah and the aunt of actor Kamal Sadanah.
