National Award-winning Assamese filmmaker Jahnu Barua has withdrawn his film, Bhoga Khirikee (Broken Window), from the upcoming Assam Film Awards in protest against the Citizenship Amendment Bill. The film is produced by Priyanka Chopra.
The Citizenship Amendment Bill was passed on Martyrs Day on 10th December. The 8th Assam State Film Awards and Assam Film Festival 2019 are scheduled to be held on 26th and 27th December in Guwahati.
