Crane operator Rajan was arrested on 21st February in connection with the accident on the sets of Kamal Haasan’s Indian 2 in Madras on 19th. Three unit members — assistant director Krishna, art assistant Chandran, and production assistant Madhu — died when a malfunctioning crane came crashing down on them at a studio on the outskirts of the city. The police had booked Rajan for negligence with respect to machinery, causing death due to negligence and under sections of the Indian Penal Code. The crane operator had gone missing soon after the accident.
Kamal Haasan and director S. Shankar are likely to be questioned in connection with the case.
