Lata Mangeshkar has opposed the Mumbai Metro Rail Corporation Ltd.’s (MMRCL) move to axe around 2,646 trees at Aarey in Bombay. “Wanton cutting of the Aarey forest would mean disrupting Nature’s balance,” said the singer. Minister for cultural affairs Vinod Tawade agreed with Lata.
The trees at Aarey are sought to be cut to make way for the Metro car shed.
