The Bombay police on 11th October night arrested a man for allegedly pushing two models into the flesh trade on the false promise of giving them roles in Hindi films by posing as a film director. The accused, Sahawan Ali alias Mannu Chanai Kaviraj, was arrested after a raid on a hotel at Aarey Colony at Goregaon East in Bombay. The raid was conducted by the social service wing of the crime branch.
According to the police, Kaviraj used to pose as a film director and promise work in Bollywood to female models. He used to send the models for prostitution to neighbouring cities and states, besides hotels in Bombay. The 45-year-old was booked under the Immoral Traffic (Prevention) Act by the Aarey police station.
