‘MENTAL HAI KYA’ POSTPONED: HRITHIK TAKES ‘SUPER 30’ AHEAD TO AVERT CLASH | 11 May, 2019

Ekta Kapoor announced the postponement of her Rajkumar Rao and Kangana Ranaut starrer, Mental Hai Kya, earlier this week when she said, it would hit the screens on 26th July instead of 21st June. Since Hrithik Roshan starrer Super 30 was slated for release on 26th July and given the war of words between Hrithik and Kangana in the media over their alleged affair, Ekta was careful to clarify that the postponement of MHK was a purely commercial decision and should be treated as such. She also promised to keep it clean, sensing that the media would make it appear like a clash of Hrithik’s film and Kangana’s film.

On his part, Hrithik soon clarified that he had asked the producers of his Super 30 to postpone the film instead of clashing with MHK. He added that the decision was taken to save the film from being ‘desecrated by yet another media circus”. He was, obviously, referring to the long-standing feud between him and Kangana, the heroine of MHK. He added that the decision was also taken to “save myself from the personal trauma and toxic mental violence this would cause”.
