PANEL TO STUDY SUBSIDIES FOR FILM INDUSTRY | 12 May, 2026

Maharashtra state cultural affairs minister Ashish Shelar on May 11 ordered the formation of a three-member expert committee to study incentive-driven policies for the film industry, aiming to strengthen the state’s position as a leading filming destination.

The committee will submit its report within three months. It will dwell on subsidies and support systems.

Shelar issued the directive during a meeting with representatives of the Hindi film industry.
