The Rajasthan high court in Jodhpur on 20th May issued fresh notices to Saif Ali Khan and Sonali Bendre in the blackbuck poaching case. This followed an appeal by the state government against their acquittal in the case. The state had challenged the trial court’s acquittal of five co-accused in the Kankani blackbuck poaching case. While admitting the appeal, the high court had on 11th March issued notices to Saif, Sonali, Neelam, Tabu and a local, Dushyant Singh. Of these five accused, notices to Saif and Sonali could not be served. The court, therefore, issued fresh notices to them, seeking their reply in eight weeks.
