The Jogeshwari (Bombay) traffic police on 21st May intercepted the SUV of actor Ranvir Shorey who had asked his driver to fetch his live-in domestic help from Mira Road, a distant Bombay suburb. The help had gone home as his wife had delivered a baby on 15th May. The car was released only after Ranvir tweeted about the same, and minister Aaditya Thackeray stepped in.
The police said, the driver could not produce the essential service pass or the travel pass issued by local police. Ranvir explained that he needed his help at home as his father is 90 years old and a cancer patient. The actor found the police’s question to him weird. The police wanted to know why the house help had gone to Mira Road when the doctor was there to attend to his wife.
