Roshan Taneja, who taught acting to a number of stars, passed away last night (10th May) in his sleep at his residence in Bombay. He had been ill since a long time. He was 87. He is survived by his wife and two sons. He will be cremated today (11th May) at 4.30 p.m. at the Santacruz electric crematorium.
Roshan Taneja ran an acting school. He was in the profession of training actors since 1963. He was the founder and former head of the acting department at the Film And Television Institute Of India (FTII), Pune.
Among the actors trained by him were Shabana Azmi, Naseeruddin Shah, Jaya Bachchan, Shatrughan Sinha and Anil Kapoor.
