An FIR has been registered against Viacom18 Media Pvt. Ltd., its chief officers, directors and other officials for allegedly cheating producer Satish Tandon by illegally streaming his multiple films on its digital platform, Voot.com, without per mission or licence from him. The Amboli (Bombay) police are investigating.
According to the FIR and the producer’s complaint, Viacom18 purportedly made crores of rupees in advertising revenues and profits. While the complaint was filed by Tandon in January, the FIR was registered on 29th May under the relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code.
