SONU SOOD TO PROVIDE MEALS TO MIGRANT WORKERS DURING RAMADAN | 23 April, 2020

Actor Sonu Sood, who not only donated to the government in its fight against COVID-19 and threw open his hotel at Juhu in Bombay for use by the medical and para-medical staff braving it out in the lockdown by attending to patients, is also providing free meals to the needy. Under his Shakti Annadanam, named after his late father, Shakti Sagar Sood, he has been providing 45,000 free meals daily. He will increase this figure to 1.5 lakh free meals daily during the month of Ramadan which will begin shortly. He intends to provide meals to 25,000 migrant workers observing roza at Bhiwandi, a distant Bombay suburb, during the entire holy month. For this, Sonu has arranged the setting up of a few kitchens in the distant suburb. These migrant labourers could not go to their hometowns because of the lockdown.
