THREE PERSONS BOOKED FOR EMBEZZLEMENT OF RS. 1.5 CRORE USING FORGED CELEB SIGNATURES | 5 January, 2026

The Amboli police in Bombay on January 3 booked three employees of an advertising and talent hunt marketing media firm for allegedly embezzling Rs. 1.41 crore by generating fake project bills and diverting company funds, including by forging celebrity signatures to clear bills. The accused allegedly siphoned money by forging signatures of actor Athiya Shetty and her cricketer-husband, K.L. Rahul, to clear the bills, but the money was never paid to them after they acted in an ad film. The accused is also alleged to have forged the signature of actor Arshad Warsi and siphoned money from the company. Later, the company learned that there was no such project which was signed by the actor.

Rishabh Surekha, Yash Nagarkoti and Ashay Shastri are the three employees who are accused, but they are yet to be arrested. The complaint was filed by Jeni Anthony, an employee of the company.
