The Bombay police’s cyber crime cell has arrested two persons for allegedly creating a website that held itself out to be online ticketing platform BookMyShow with a view to duping the public. A third susÂpect is absconding.
Arbaz Zaheer Shaikh (22) and Abdulla Hakim Shaikh (25) were produced in a local court and later sent to police custoÂdy till 31st May. The third accused is MohÂsin Mehboob. The modus operandi of the fake website was to have the ticket money transferred but not issue any tickets for films. The website was called bookmy showsupport.com.
After receiving complaints from peoÂple, BookMyShow lodged an FIR with the police.
