VARUN DHAWAN FINED FOR STUNT IN METRO TRAIN | 28 January, 2026

Actor Varun Dhawan was issued a Rs. 500 challan for creating nuisance inside public property after a recent video showing him hanging from grab handles inside a Metro train coach in Bombay went viral on social media. The widely circulated clip drew criticism from commuters and prompted the Metro operator to issue a public advisory on passenger safety.

Action was taken by the Maha Mumbai Metro Operation Corporation Ltd. (MMMOCL), which clarified that grab handles inside Metro coaches were designed only to provide support to standing passengers and not for hanging or performing stunts. The operator said, such behaviour not only endangered the individuals involved but could also pose risks to other commuters, especially when brakes were suddenly applied or during crowd movement. In a post on social media, MMMOCL cautioned commuters against imitating what it described as “movie-style stunts” inside Metro coaches, stressing that public transports were shared spaces governed by safety norms. It added that misuse of fittings and acts that created nuisance fell under the list of punishable offences.
