Filmmaker Vikram Bhatt and his wife, Shwetambari, were today (December 9) remanded to seven days’ police custody in the Rs. 30-crore fraud case.
The Bhopalpura police in Udaipur had arrested the couple in Bombay on December 7 in connection with the fraud case filed by Dr. Ajay Murdia. A case against the Bhatts and several others was registered on November 17. Dr. Murdia claimed that he was promised profits of Rs. 100-200 crore in four films made on a combined budget of Rs. 47 crore. One of the films was to be a biopic of his wife, Indira. Dr. Murdia owns the Indira IVF clinic chain in India.
