VIPUL SHAH WINS 16-YEAR-OLD CHEQUE BOUNCING CASE | 20 April, 2026

The metropolitan magistrate court at Andheri in Bombay recently ruled in favour of filmmaker Vipul Amrutlal Shah in a cheque bouncing case, holding P.J. Singh and Gita Bhalla Singh, producers of London Dreams, guilty under the Negotiable Instruments Act.

The case dates back to 2009 when Vipul’s company, Sunshine Pictures Pvt. Ltd., provided a loan to the producers of London Dreams, directed by him, to help complete the film. The cheque for repayment, issued by the producers to Vipul Shah, was subsequently dishonoured by their bank.

The court has ordered the producers to clear all outstanding dues within 90 days. If the payment is not made within the stipulated time frame, the producers face a nine-month imprisonment sentence.
