Eighteen Bollywood singers have joined forces to fight the coronavirus pandemic in India by hosting a three-day virtual musical concert. The singers include Asha Bhosle, S.P. Balasubrahmaniam, Udit Narayan, Kumar Sanu, Sudesh Bhosle, Hariharan, K.J. Yesudas, Suresh Wadkar, Sonu Nigam, Kailash Kher, Salim Merchant, Shankar Mahadevan, Anup Jalota, Kavita Krishnamoorthy, Alka Yagnik, Pankaj Udhas, Shaan and Talat Aziz. Each singer is singing from his/her home. The singers have appealed to the public to contribute whatever they can. The funds generated from contributions will be donated to the PM-CARES fund.
The feed for the shows, being held on April 10, 11 and 12 (today) from 8 p.m. to 9 p.m., is available on OTT platforms, digital and social media channels. Akshay Kumar hosted the opening show. The performers have been divided in batches of six. The show, ‘Sangeet Setu’, has been organised by the Indian Singers’ Rights Association (ISRA).
