Eight months after arrest on charge of conspiracy in the case relating to the unnatural death of Assam’s music icon Zubeen Garg in Singapore, accused Shyamkanu Mahanta’s bail application was entertained by the Supreme Court on June 23. The apex court sought the response of the Assam government.
Mahanta, who was the organiser of the show in Singapore, for which Zubeen had travelled there in September last year and had died while swimming in the sea, gave a detailed account on Zubeen Garg’s drinking habits and how he had ignored repeated instructions about the dangers involved in swimming in the sea.
