‘CHAINSAW MAN – THE MOVIE: REZE ARC’ (ANIMATION; DUBBED) REVIEW | 26 September, 2025

MAPPA’s Chainsaw Man – The Movie: Reze Arc (animation; dubbed from the Japanese film of the same name; A) is a sequel to the first season of the anime television series.

Denji has become a boy with a Devil’s heart after being resurrected post-death and is now known as the Chainsaw Man. After a date with girlfriend Makima, he meets Reze, a girl who works in a cafe.

The film is based on Tatsuki Fujimoto’s anime series, Chainsaw Man. The screenplay, penned by Hiroshi Seko, has a lot of action, romance, emotions, fantasy and drama. The drama is quite interesting, but only for the youngsters who are in the know about the anime series.

Voice acting of the anime characters is quite nice. Tatsuya Yoshihara’s direction is appealing. The narration keeps the audience hooked and engrossed. Kensuke Ushio’s background music is appealing. Teppei Ito’s cinematography is nice. Masato Yoshitake’s editing is very sharp. Dubbing is good.

On the whole, Chainsaw Man – The Movie: Reze Arc is an average fare, more the original version than the dubbed Hindi version. Only a section of the youth will like the film.

Released on 26-9-’25 at Metro Inox (daily 1 show) and other cinemas of Bombay thru Sony Pictures Films India Pvt. Ltd. Publicity: so-so. Opening: dull. …….Also released all over. Opening was weak at many places. The original Japanese version released simultaneously, and it opened much better and will fare far better than the dubbed version.
