Kamdhenu International Production LLP’s Godaan is the story of how a cow, Surbhi, transforms a modern-day scientist’s beliefs. Her presence leads to discoveries in Panchgavya-based medicine, sustainable living and the spiritual science behind cow reverence.
Vinod Kumar Chaudhary, Ameet Prajapati and Vita Chaudhary have written a story which doesn’t entertain at all. It is rather like a documentation of beliefs around the holy cow. The trio’s screenplay is slow-paced and boring. Even their dialogues are routine.
Manoj Joshi does an average job. Upasana Singh is fairly good. Rajesh Jais lends ordinary support. Sahil Anand is so-so. Rose Sardana, Praveen Tiwari, Saharsh Shukla, Utkarsh Singh Bhardwaj and Ravi Karnwal lend dull support.
Vinod Kumar Chaudhary and Ameet Prajapati’s direction is nothing to shout about. Their narration fails to involve the viewers. Revart Shergill and Jamit’s music is functional, at best. Ashwin Pakhrot’s cinematography is so-so. Parth Y. Bhatt’s editing leaves a lot to be desired.
On the whole, Godaan is a weak fare.
Released on 6-2-’26 at Metro Inox (daily 1 show) and other cinemas of Bombay by Kamdhenu International Production LLP. Publicity & opening: poor. …….Also released all over. Opening was terrible everywhere.
