‘HELLO KNOCK KNOCK KAUN HAI?’ REVIEW | 7 November, 2025

Daya Shetty Production’s Hello Knock Knock Kaun Hai? (UA) is a suspense thriller. JK (Dayanand Shetty) and Mamta (Sonali Kulkarni) are married. But JK has a girlfriend, Nikita (Barkha Bisht Sengupta), tucked away in Alibaug. Mamta becomes aware of the presence of another girl in husband JK’s life and so she decides to catch him red-handed. Towards this end, Mamta seeks shelter in Nikita’s Alibaug home without revealing her true identity. She introduces herself to Nikita as Pooja, and pleads to be let inside the house to hide from her boyfriend, Andy (Aditya Srivastava). Soon, JK and Mamta/Pooja come face-to-face in Nikita’s house in Alibaug. What happens thereafter? Do JK and Mamta/Pooja live happily ever after or does JK marry Nikita? Who is Andy?

Prabal Baruah’s story is childish and doesn’t involve the viewers. His screenplay is hackneyed and does not afford any excitement to the audience. So ordinary are the proceedings that the drama simply doesn’t appeal. Suhail Abbasi’s dialogues are commonplace.

Dayanand Shetty does quite well as JK. Barkha Bisht Sengupta impresses as Nikita. Sonali Kulkarni performs ably as Mamta/Pooja. Aditya Srivastava makes a mark in the role of Andy. Zarina Wahab provides nice support as JK’s mother. Suhail Uppal (as Sunny), Liliput (as Guruji) and the rest of the actors fit the bill.

Prabal Baruah’s direction is below the mark. Ajay Singha’s music is ordinary. Suhail Abbasi’s lyrics don’t add much to the proceedings. Sanjay Wandrekar’s background music should’ve been more impactful. Pushpank Gawade’s cinematography is okay. Sankalp Meshram’s editing is loose.

On the whole, Hello Knock Knock Kaun Hai? is a non-starter.

Released on 7-11-’25 at Sterling (daily 1 show) and other cinemas of Bombay thru August Entertainment. Publicity & opening: poor. …….Also released all over. Opening was weak everywhere.
