Naad Studios, Avyaan Arts, Mahalasa Entertainment and Pickle Entertainment’s Lagna Aani Barach Kahi (Marathi; UA) is the story of a young lady who finds it suffocating to conform to set rules of married life.
Yashashri Masurkar’s story is quite routine. Vedanti Dani’s screenplay treads the predictable path. The drama may appear to be forward-thinking but even that is passé now. Sharvari Pethkar’s dialogues are nice.
Pooja Sawant shines. Abhijeet Khandkekar is very good. Sukanya Gurav makes her presence felt. Himanshu Raj Talreja is alright. Akshaya Naik is okay. Bharti Patil has her moments. Anuj Nayak lends average support. Others pass muster.
Vedanti Dani’s direction is so-so. The narration doesn’t spring any surprises. Vaishali Samant’s music is quite alright. Lyrics (Vaishali Samant, Vedanti Dani, Sharmila Ranade and Prajakta Mandake) are fair. Song picturisations are okay. Jay Mehta’s background music ought to have been more effective. Smita Nirmal’s camerawork is of a fair standard. Bhakti Mayaloo’s editing should’ve been sharper.
On the whole, Lagna Aani Barach Kahi is not entertaining enough and not novel enough to appeal to the public.
Released on 23-10-’26 at Plaza (daily 1 show) and other cinemas of Bombay by Pickle Entertainment. Publicity & opening: dull.
