Mahaparv Films and Jija Film Company’s Lagnacha Shot (Marathi; UA) is the story of a runaway bridegroom.
Abhi (Abhijit Amkar) is being forced into a marriage and, therefore, runs away before the marriage can be solemnised. While escaping in a train, he meets a girl, Krutika (Priyadarshini Indalkar), who tells him that she herself was the bride from whom he had run away. She also informs Abhi that she had run away from the wedding because she was in love with another boy. The two return home. Abhi gets a shock when he learns of the true identity of Krutika. Who is Krutika actually? What happens to Abhi’s marriage? And who does Krutika ultimately wed?
Akshay Gore’s story is not very convincing. His screenplay has some entertaining moments, mainly in the first half. The drama deteriorates post-interval. There are some scenes and sequences, especially in the post-interval potion, which fail to have the desired impact. Akshay Gore’s dialogues are good.
Abhijit Amkar acts ably as Abhi. Priyadarshini Indalkar does well as Krutika. Rajan Tamhane is okay as Abhi’s father. Leena Pandit is average in the role of Abhi’s mother. Sanjay Kulkarni lends ordinary support as Krutika’s father. Prabhakar More makes a fair impression as the railway TC. Sanjeevani Patil is so-so as Krutika’s mother. Abhijeet Chavan is ordinary as the hawaldar; he gets just one scene to perform. Others pass muster.
Akshay Gore’s direction is alright. Pravin Koli and Yogita Koli’s music comprises three songs of which the title track is fair. The duo’s lyrics are okay. Sachin Kamble’s choreography is average. Tejas Padave’s background music could’ve been better. Rajesh Nadone’s camerawork is fair. Mohit Pabarkar’s art direction is ordinary. Sandesh Koli’s editing is a bit loose, more so in the second half.
On the whole, Lagnacha Shot has a weak post-interval portion and hence it will flop at the turnstiles.
Released on 6-2-’26 at Plaza (daily 1 show) and other cinemas of Bombay thru Panorama Studios. Publicity: so-so. Opening: poor.
