Dinesh Vijan’s Munjya is all set to join the Rs. 100-crore club. Although one talks of Rs. 200- and 300-crore clubs nowadays, entering the 100-crore club is no mean achievement for a small film like Munjya. With a budget of barely Rs. 20 crore, its net collections of Rs. 100 crore and more is remarkable, to say the least.
What is equally fantastic is that this will be the first film made by a debut director (Aditya Sarpotdar) AND starring a debut-making hero (Abhay Verma) to join the 100-crore club. Aditya Sarpotdar may be a well-known director of Marathi films but Munjya marks his debut in Hindi cinema.
