Five fans of actor and Andhra Pradesh MLA Nandamuri Balakrishna have been booked by the Tirupati police for beheading a goat in full public view ahead of the release of his film, Daaku Maharaaj. After slaughtering the goat outside a cinema in Tirupati, Balakrishna’s fans smeared its blood on the film’s posters.
A video of the same went viral on social media, following which animal rights organisation PETA lodged a police complaint, seeking action against the accused. The accused were booked under BNS, Andhra Pradesh Animals and Birds Sacrifices (Prohibition) Act, and Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act.
