That’s the magic of music! If a song is loved by one, it is loved by all. You can have different opinions about a film or an actor’s performance, but as far as film music is concerned, there are rarely differing viewpoints. Generally speaking, people like, love and adore the same songs. Like the nation seems to have fallen in love with the title track of Sooraj Barjatya’s Yeh Prem Mol Liya!
The Barjatyas and Himesh Reshammiya Melodies held a musical evening yesterday at The Royal Opera House in Bombay to release the first (title) song of the film. And boy! what a song it is!! Himesh Reshammiya and Sooraj seem to have got it wonderfully right.
Ayushmann Khurrana and Sharvari Wagh play the lead roles in the family love story which will hit the screens on 27th November. Sooraj Barjatya seems to be in great form, if the visuals of the song are anything to go by. It appears that the Rajshri banner has returned to what it has been known for over the decades, more so after Sooraj Barjatya came on the direction scene — clean family drama with a young romantic pair and a hari-bhari supporting cast.
Sooraj was all praise for Himesh who has composed the music for all the six songs of the film. If Himesh had his way, he would’ve added another — “seventh” — song because “it’s a potential super-hit”, but Sooraj Barjatya feels, the film simply doesn’t need that number. And we all know, how Sooraj remains cent per cent honest to his script even if that means having to forgo a potential blockbuster song! All the songs have been penned by Kumaar who was also present at the music trailer yesterday. Himesh thanked him profusely for writing so beautifully for the film.
After screening the title track and visuals from the film, there was also a live performance on the song. Ayushmann and Sharvari joined chorus dancers on the stage to make the evening even more memorable. As if that weren’t good enough, Himesh requested Ayushmann to render two-four lines of the title track. Of course, the sporting actor-singer readily obliged! Himesh himself joined Ayushmann in the singing. After that, Himesh also gave a peek into another song from the film, by rendering a few lines. That one also seems to be a hit number.
All in all, the musical evening was truly entertaining and enjoyable. Seems, the film will more than match up to the musical evening!
