Pal’s Films’ Wig Boss (UA) is the story of a balding poet.
Keshav Prajapati (Sunil Pal) works in an advertising company but loves to write poetry too. Nobody takes his poetry seriÂously because his poems are sub-standÂard. Nobody takes Keshav also seriously and that’s because of his balding pate.
A doctor advises him to wear a wig to take care of his receding hairline. That does the trick. Not only do people start respecting him but Deepika (Shabina Khan), the Bhojpuri film heroine he loves, also agrees to marry him.
Sunil Pal’s story may be about the hair on the head but it has no head or tail. His screenplay is also absolutely silly and irriÂtating. His dialogues are somewhat better as compared to his weak story and screenplay.
Sunil Pal is no hero material but he manages to evoke some laughter. ShabiÂna Khan is okay as Deepika. Rakesh Bedi is ordinary. Upasna Singh leaves a mark. Rakhi Sawant lends ordinary supÂport. Ehsaan Qureshi is good in a brief role. Ganesh Acharya’s acting just about passes muster. Shailesh Lodha is alright. Others lend ordinary support.
Sunil Pal’s direction is no better than his script. Music (Deen Mohd., Sandip Dange, Sagar and Dr. Sunil Jogi) is dull and so are the lyrics (Sunil Pal, Vikas Kaushik, Ashok Upadhyay, Sagar and Dr. Sunil Jogi). Raju Bali’s choreography is functional. Virendra Ajmera’s cinematography is barely passable. Mayur Ghia’s art direction is below the mark. Editing (Azad Hussain) leaves a lot to be desired.
On the whole, Wig Boss is a poor show all the way and will prove to be a disastrous fare at the ticket windows.
Released on 19-7-’19 at Imperial (daily 1 show) and other cinemas of Bombay thru Screenshot Media & Entertainment Group. Publicity & opening: terribly poor. …….Also releaÂsed all over. Opening was bad everywhere.
