Producer Ronnie Screwvala has postponed the release of his Bhangra Paa Le. Although the new release date is still not finalised, it is certain that the film will not hit the screens on 1st November, as was scheduled.
The release of the film, starring some newcomers and some non-established actors, on 1st November, was always viewed with a lot of scepticism in trade circles because it was being sandwiched between big Diwali releases on the one hand and other big releases scheduled on 8th November. But that won’t be the case now as it has been postponed. So the films now slated for release on 1st November are Ujda Chaman, Zindagi Tumse and Terminator: Dark Fate (dubbed). Bypass Road, which was finalised for release on 1st November, has been shifted ahead by a week. It will now reach the cinemas on 8th November. Mamangam (dubbed) has also been postponed by three weeks. Instead of 1st November, it will now release on 21st November. It is to be seen if the release date of Bala is preponed to 1st November instead of 8th November. For, there has always been a fight between the producers of Bala and Ujda Chaman to beat the other film to the release post. Till just a few days back, both the films about premature balding were slated for release on 8th November. Then, the producers of Bala announced that they’d come a day earlier. Then came the news that Ujda Chaman had been preponed to 1st November.
