Like all other films slated for release in March, Yash Raj Films’ Sandeep Aur Pinky Faraar has also been postponed. The Arjun Kapoor and Parineeti Chopra starrer was slated for release on 20th March but thanks to the shutting down of cinemas owing to precautionary measures taken by various state governments due to the fear of coronavirus outbreak, its release has been put off indefinitely.
The first to announce his film’s postponement was Rohit Shetty. His Sooryavanshi was to hit the screens on 24th March. Is Love Enough? Sir and Babloo Bachelor followed. Both the films were scheduled to release on 20th March but their releases have now been pushed ahead. Frankly, with cinemas in Delhi, Bombay, Pune, Madhya Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Bihar, Chhattisgarh, Punjab, Rajasthan and Orissa ordered to be shut down, it doesn’t make sense for any film to release now. Angrezi Medium has taken the biggest hit because of the lockdown on cinemas but since the film had already opened in the UAE on Thursday (12th March) by the time the news of the cinema closure in various states in India trickled in, it was too late to postpone its release in India.
