The deputy registrar under the Trade Union Act was yesterday (March 4) appointed administrator of the Movie Stunt Artists Association (MSAA). The order for the appointment was passed by the industrial court of Maharashtra in Bombay.
The affairs of the MSAA were in a mess as the Shrikant Shetty and Aejaz Gulab factions were both professing to be the executive committee. The administrator has been directed by S.V. Suryawanshi, member of the industrial court, to take possession of the properties of the MSAA, including its office, books of accounts, other records as well as bank accounts opened by both the parties in the name of MSAA. The court has also asked the administrator to hold elections under the constitution, within a period of two months and then to hand over the records to the new executive committee or office-bearers who would be elected. Meanwhile, the court restrained both the parties from representing themselves as office-bearers or executive committee members and also from operating the bank account of the MSAA.
