The Lucknow police have booked Shilpa Shetty and her mother, Sunanda Shetty, for an alleged fraud committed in the city. Two FIRs were registered — one each at Hazratganj and Vibhutikhand police stations in Lucknow — against the mother-daughter duo. While one team of the Lucknow police has reached Bombay to question them, another team will soon reach the city. Notices had been sent to both the accused.
The cases against the Shettys were filed by Jyotsna Chauhan, resident of Omaxe Heights which falls under the jurisdiction of the Vibhutikhand police station, and Rohit Veer Singh, who resides in a building under the jurisdiction of the Hazratganj police station.
Shilpa Shetty runs a fitness chain, Iosis Wellness Centre, in which she is the chairperson while her mother is a director. According to the complaints, the actress and her mother allegedly took a couple of crore rupees from Jyotsna and Rohit under the guise of opening a branch of the wellness centre, but the promise was not fulfilled.
