Producer Ashish Bhavsar was arrested recently for raping a model on the pretext of casting her in a film. The model complained to the Goregaon police station in Bombay in March this year. On the basis of her complaint, an FIR under sections 376 and 506(2) of the Indian Penal Code was registered against the accused.
Ashish was arrested after the cancellation of his anticipatory bail. He was sent to police custody till September 9 (today) by the court. The accused had allegedly threatened to kill the victim if she dared to tell anyone about her rape.
