A record number of 6,125 applicants appeared for the joint entrance test for the Film And Television Institute Of India (FTII), Pune, and the Satyajit Ray Film And Television Institute (SRFTI), Calcutta, this year. The results are expected next week. The FTII and SRFTI merged their admission procedures last year. Both institutes are autonomous bodies under the I & B ministry.
The FTII offers 11 post-graduate diploma programmes in film and television, and it has a total of 112 seats across all courses.
