Days after Sudha Chandran shared her ordeal at an airport — where she was asked to remove her prosthetic limb at the security check, without privacy — and appealed to to the Prime Minister to intervene, the aviation ministry on 26th October issued draft accessibility guidelines for persons with disabilities, laying out do’s and don’ts for both, airlines and airport operators. The ministry has invited suggestions and comments within three weeks, after which the final guidelines would be issued.
