An FIR against Kangana Ranaut was registered by the Shastri Nagar police station in Jodhpur yesterday (November 11). The complaint was filed by the women’s wing of Congress and was in relation to the actress’ comments about India’s freedom struggle, made on a public platform on November 10.
The allegedly objectionable comment was made by Kangana at the annual summit of a national media network. She said that what India had got in the name of freedom in 1947 was actually charity. She added that India attained independence in the true sense only in 2014. The complaint by Congress alleged that her comments had hurt the sentiments of India’s freedom fighters, martyrs and their families. The complaint added that Kangana Ranaut was a traitor to have belittled the sacrifices made by freedom fighters.
