PROTECTION BAIL TO SHERLYN CHOPRA IN PORN FILMS RACKET CASE | 4 February, 2022

The Supreme Court today (February 4) granted actress Sherlyn Chopra protection from arrest in the porn films racket case. A bench of Justices Vineet Saran and Aniruddha Bose issued notice to the Maharashtra government on the appeal filed by Sherlyn against a Bombay high court order rejecting her anticipatory bail plea. While issuing notice, the apex court said that no coercive action should be taken against the petitioner.

Actress Poonam Pandey was given similar protection from arrest by the SC on January 18. Raj Kundra, husband of Shilpa Shetty, was granted protection from arrest by the apex court in December last year in connection with an FIR registered against him for allegedly distributing pornographic videos.
