Veteran producer A.G. Nadidadwala (on right in photograph) passed away this morning (22nd August) around 1.40 a.m. at Breach Candy Hospital in Bombay following multiple health problems including diabetes and asthma. He was in his early nineties. He is survived by his sons — producers Firoz (on the left in the picture) and Mushtaq Nadiadwala, and Bombay distributor Hafiz Nadiadwala — and daughters.

His funeral will start from his residence, Barkat, at JVPD Scheme at 4 p.m. today. He will be cremated at the Irla Masjid.

Gaffarbhai, as he was called, had produced a number of films like Aa Gale Lag Jaa, Shankar Shambhu, Pratikaar, Lahoo Ke Do Rang, Jhutha Sach, Watan Ke Rakhwale, Sone Pe Suhaaga and others.

Gaffarbhai was a very fine human being and was a conscientious film producer. During the time he produced films, he used to eat, breathe and sleep films. He was also a partner in Empire Audio Centre with Yusuf Lakdawala in the days when it was started.
