The Kozhikode police in Kerala on September 28 launched an investigation into an incident of two actresses being allegedly groped at a promotional event for their film at a mall in the city the previous evening. Both the actresses revealed their shocking experiences on social media. While one actress reacted by instantly slapping the man who misbehaved with her, the other said on a Facebook post late on September 27 that she froze.
“Are people around us this frustrated? The film team had gone to several places as part of promotion. What happened today was a despicable incident, which I had not experienced in any of the places where we had gone for the film promotions,” said the second actress.
The police swung into action after the film’s producer lodged a complaint in Kozhikode on September 28. A special investigation team was constituted. It will record the statements of both the actresses. The police will examine CCTV footage from the mall to identify and catch the culprits. While one of the actresses left for Kannur, the other was in Ernakulam.
