Actress Swastika Mukherjee has accused the producers of her upcoming Bengali film, of sexual harassment and has lodged a complaint in Calcutta’s Golf Green police station against a few persons associated with the production house. She has also filed a complaint with the Eastern India Motion Pictures Association (EIMPA) and the Artistes’ Forum.
Swastika has mentioned in her complaints that one of the producers, Sandeep Sarkar, has been threatening her and her manager, Shrishti Jain, for the past one month, with derogatory and sexually harassing emails along with death threats. He has allegedly accused her of extorting money and not delivering as per the contract for marketing and promoting the film, threatening to complain to the US Consulate against her and to take legal action. She also mentioned that he had shared their email ids with his associates, colleagues and friends, one of who, named Ravish Sharma, had sent her sexually harassing emails with her morphed nude images. Ravish had also threatened to hack her social media accounts and upload all such nude images on them and on porn sites.
The producers have also complained to the EIMPA against Swastika, alleging that she was unprofessional. Meanwhile, the film’s director, Arindam Bhattacharya, has also claimed that he had been facing similar harassment from the producers, before Swastika.
